I am graduating tomorrow, and I really wanted to post a journal excerpt that reflected everything I have learned over the years. Here is my letter to the class of 2017, may God be with you all.

Open letter to the class of 2017,

I cannot begin to tell you how quickly this next year will pass. Do you remember when you were a freshman? I do, and I remember when I was too. I feel like I was a freshman just yesterday. Gosh, I feel like I was in kindergarten last week! And now I am graduating high school, I am 18, I am going to college next year, I am an adult. Soon you're going to be an adult too, and you are going to miss every single second of high school, so please begin to cherish it before it's gone.

Seniors (can I call you seniors?), I know a lot of you, and I've known a lot of you for a long time. Some of you are even my close friends, which makes me feel old. But, I really care about you and I want the best for you. I want you to experience high school, and all of its goods and bads. So to do that, I would like to share some tips with you.

1. Start embracing your after high school plans.
Stop doing the thing, where you cringe every time you say you're going to schoolcraft. Schoolcraft is a good college, it is okay to go there. It is okay to go to community college, it is okay to go to trade school, it is okay to take a gap year, it is okay to never go to college, it is okay to go to a 4 year college, it is all okay. So start to embrace whatever you are doing.

2. Let go of high school, before it even ends.
I don't mean to forget about it. I mean to get yourself unstuck, to free yourself. No one is going to care who you dated or what sports you played or how popular you were. No one cares. So please do whatever you want, and don't care about people's opinions of you, they're going to forget them when you're no longer in their life.

3. Don't procrastinate.
It is going to be so hard. Senioritis is real, and it's really really really bad. You thought it was bad junior year, but you were wrong. Don't let senioritis let you fail, do your projects and homework early on.

4. If you're going to stay in touch, do it right.
Don't say, "let's get together" and never do it. That is BS, if you really want to get together with someone, make it happen! My mom still talks to her best friends from high school because they kept in contact, jeez my first grade teacher was one of my mom's high school best friends. Text your friends, call your friends, Twitter, Facebook, snapchat, figure something out.

5. Take chances.
Live on the edge a little. Do things you normally wouldn't do. It feels so good to take risks and do something new. It's nice to feel a little free. Tell that cute boy or girl you think they're cute, if they turn you down who cares? It's not like you're going to see them after high school.

6. Write everyday.
Keep a journal, write in your notes on your phone. Photos don't always tell the whole story, so write down your memories. You'll love to look back in 10 years and read about your life in high school.

7. Live your life.
Drive around at 3 am with your best friend, you never know if she'll go to college 14 hours away. Volunteer to sit in the trunk when the car is full, it's kinda fun! Annoy the guy at Taco Bell, if your friends can't decide what they want or want something that's not on the menu, that's a little bit funny. Enjoy all of life's moments.

8. Remember your lasts.
Your last first day of school. Your last football game. Your last homecoming. Your last spirit day. Your last class period. Your last last day of school. Your last walk through the hallways. Your last drive through the treacherous parking lot. Your lasts are the things you'll remember the best, so keep them in your heart.

9. Love yourself.
Not like the Justin Bieber song. I mean it like, take care of yourself. Get some sleep. Relax. Your health is far more important than your education.

10. Graduation isn't the end, it's the beginning. Let your life begin.

I only wish the best senior year for you all, good luck!

xoxo, Aubrey
