college bound

Sunday, July 31, 2016

It's August, which means soon a lot of you, including myself, will be going to college for the first time! How exciting, how scary, how stressful, how fun! I know we will all have a fantastic experience with college, and as soon as we get through the stressful shopping trips we will be fine!

My move-in day is August 23rd, so I have been shopping like crazy and also driving myself insane. I have about 30 different college shopping lists, 5,000 different ways to make money without actually working (all my ambassadorships, saving money from my current job, working during Christmas break, etc.), and 10,000 things I need to do before I leave! To add to my stress, I have decided to make this blog post!

This post is going to be all about my college shopping experience, it is going to include where I shopped, must haves I bought, and the absolute essentials (including some things I have from being an ambassador)!

Lights, camera, action!

I bought things from soooo many places, they all were wonderful and had prices that wouldn't break the bank. I shopped at Dormco, Dormitup, Target, Amazon, and Bed Bath and Beyond. I think Dormco and Dormitup have amazing packages if you're lazy and just want someone else to gather everything for you. I didn't use them for a package, but I kind of think that I should have!

Must haves:

I definitely think you need to have your mattress encasement, mattress topper and mattress pad (Twin XL), you're going to need these to make sure you're comfortable when you're sleeping. Imagine sleeping on one of those summer camp mattresses for 4 years, you're going to want something to fix that .000001/10 comfort level.

Laundry bag!!! Yeah a hamper is nice and all, but how in the world do you expect to lug that to the laundry room every two weeks?

Personal alarm and defense spray, because you have to keep yourself safe!

Essentials:

Tampons
Water bottles (get yours @ sandcloud.com using code AUBREYS25)
Monq (get yours @ monq.com using code mybabychai)
Makeup wipes
First aid kit
Journal!
Planner
Books to read on your free time

Okay that's really all I have for you, happy shopping!

xoxo, Aubs

village walkers

Tuesday, July 19, 2016

Yesterday, Angela and I went to Greenfield Village. I have loved Greenfield Village ever since I was a kid, I was always fascinated by history and I loved seeing how people lived back then.

My favorite fact about Greenfield Village is that after Walt Disney went there, he based Disneyland after the set up of the village. Greenfield Village is definitely one of the gems of Ford Motor Company and of Michigan as a whole.

We got to take a photo in an old photo studio, ride a 1913 carousel (I rode a chicken so that's cool), look at some old farm houses, we ate lunch at an old tavern that women wouldn't have been permitted at during it's time, we saw some amazing landscaping throughout, and a ton of other fun things.

If you live in Michigan or you ever visit, this is definitely a place that everyone must see! You'll be astonished that Henry Ford had a crew that could move buildings all the way from Florida, you'll also be amazed that there is so much history you didn't know existed. Please enjoy history and have fun with it!

my sweet visitor

Wednesday, July 13, 2016

On Tuesday, Angela and I packed a picnic basket and headed to the park. We found a table in the shade, covered it with my new towel from Sand Cloud, and unpacked our meal. Luckily, I had Angela with me to take a few photos of our picnic and of me with my new towel.

For our meal we packed San Pellegrino Limonata in our new Sand Cloud water bottles, fresh cherries, fresh strawberries, cheese, crackers & salami, bloody mary chips, and oreos. It was a very great meal for lunch on a hot, humid day.

Angela and I had a fantastic time on our picnic and we hope that you go on a picnic with your best friend soon! Picnics are a great time to bond and just talk about life. I can now check this off my summer bucket list!!

I adore this towel and water bottle from Sand Cloud (25% off if you go to sandcloud.com and use code AUBREYS25) and my slip from Free People!

Sorry if this post was very "I love this, I love that" I just love a lot of things and I really wanted to share that with you! I am also in a not so good mood, so I am hoping that by talking about things I love I will cheer up!

Lots of love, Aubs

52 lists

Monday, July 11, 2016

hello babes, I am so glad you decided to take the time to view my blog today. I have a few things I'd love to share with you.

1. I am an ambassador for two new companies that I cannot wait to share with you
2. I am planning on writing another poetry book within the next couple of years and I am going to need someone to help me design the cover ;)
3. I will be attending Grand Valley State University in the fall, which may affect my blogging. We will see how much college affects my blogging when the time comes.

That is all the I have to share at this time, so without further ado, here is my wonderful blog post!

I got The 52 Lists Project for Christmas of 2015 and I have been listing ever since. This book has helped me with so much, it has helped me to realize the person I am today and how I became that person. I cannot wait to finish this book and to look back on it for years to come.

The author of The 52 Lists Project, Moorea Seal, has a second listing book coming out in September called 52 Lists for Happiness. Now I know that I will be buying her new book, and I strongly urge you to do the same, as well as buying her other book.

I cannot wait to share more and more of my lists with you and I hope that you share yours with me! Happy listing!

excerpt from my journal no. 27

Tuesday, July 5, 2016

I want to apologize for the lack of journal excerpts this month, I haven't had much inspiration to write and this writer's block is really killing my vibe. Anyways, here is a little something I wrote during the school year! I hope it inspires you more than it inspires me, which is not at all.

12/01/2015
write everyday. buy a nice journal and write in it everyday. write lists, stories, notes, letters, etc. you'll want something to look back on.

And there you have it, I really short and uneventful journal excerpt!
